The bi-annual Prep4Seed 12-week programme started today in Kilkenny with a Masterclass on The Foundations of Investor Readiness organised by Propelor and Furthr. Delivered by the four Irish Business Innovation Centres (BICs) in collaboration with Enterprise Ireland, Prep4Seed brings high-growth start-up clients through the investor-readiness process quickly and effectively.
Thirteen companies were selected by Enterprise Ireland from a variety of industry sectors including: Food; FinTech & Financial Services; Lifesciences & HealthTech; Enterprise Solutions and Digital Technologies.
Conor O’Donovan, Head of Start-ups at Enterprise Ireland said:
“Start-ups are a powerful driver of innovation and economic growth. At Enterprise Ireland, we are committed to supporting 1,000 new start-ups over the next 5 years as part of our strategy to end 2029. We know that securing funding is a key challenge for start-ups and the Prep4Seed programme, run in collaboration with the Irish BICs, supports founders to build out the commercial and technical elements of their company to attract further investment. I am pleased that the companies selected for the programme represent a wide regional spread across a diverse range of sectors from deep-tech and AI to Food and Lifesciences, and we look forward to working with these companies over the course of the programme as they enhance their investor-readiness.”
Opening today’s Masterclass, Aidan Shine, CEO, Propelor, said:
“We’re delighted to welcome this new Prep4Seed cohort. The programme creates investible companies by condensing twelve weeks of targeted support into concrete outputs and a clear, investor-ready path to funding. Consultants from each of the Irish BICs will dig in with the founders who will leave with a clear story, solid numbers and a pitch they can stand over.”
The Prep4Seed programme includes five Masterclasses run by the Irish BICs and six one-to-one sessions concentrating on client-led, bespoke support with experienced BIC consultants. The one-to-ones ensure that content from the Masterclasses is applied in a relevant way to each company.
